A cultural and service organisation rooted in Sanatana Dharma — nurturing character, leadership, and community spirit across Thailand.
Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh Thailand exists to serve the Hindu community and broader Thai society through the timeless principles of Dharma — righteousness, duty, and compassion. We believe that a strong community is built one individual at a time, through character, discipline, and service.
Our work is inspired by the tradition of swayamsevaks — volunteers who serve without expectation of reward. Every week, in shakhas across Bangkok and beyond, men, women, and children gather to build themselves and their community.
We are non-political, open to all Hindus regardless of background or tradition, and committed to fostering harmony both within the Hindu community and with the broader Thai society.
To cultivate confident individuals rooted in dharma who serve society selflessly, foster unity within the Hindu community, and work towards the well-being of all people in Thailand.
A vibrant, organised Hindu community in Thailand — one that contributes meaningfully to the nation while preserving its rich cultural and spiritual heritage for future generations.
Shakha-based learning that weaves together physical fitness, intellectual growth, cultural pride, and service. We build from the ground up — one individual, one family, one community at a time.
From humble beginnings to a thriving community — our journey in Thailand spans over fifteen years of dedicated service.
A small group of dedicated Hindu families in Bangkok begins informal gatherings, inspired by the shakha tradition and a desire to preserve Hindu culture for their children growing up in Thailand.
With the blessings of HSS international, the Thailand chapter is formally constituted. The first official shakha begins in the On Nut area of Bangkok, laying the foundation for what would become a flourishing community.
New shakhas open in Sukhumvit, Silom, and suburban Bangkok. Bala Gokulam for children launches, drawing families from across the city. Annual camps and festivals begin drawing larger and larger crowds.
HSS Thailand formalises its seva wing, partnering with local organisations to run food drives, educational support initiatives, and community clean-up projects across Bangkok.
Despite challenges posed by global disruptions, HSS Thailand adapted, moving some activities online and running intensive relief seva efforts. Today the organisation is stronger than ever, with six active shakhas and a growing membership.
"We did not come together simply as immigrants trying to preserve culture. We came together as swayamsevaks — volunteers committed to building something lasting for our community and our adopted home."— HSS Thailand founding member
Everything we do flows from these core principles, drawn from the eternal wisdom of Sanatana Dharma.
Serving without expectation of reward. We believe that true fulfilment comes from contributing to the well-being of others.
Our Seva Work →Instilling discipline, respect, and responsibility through daily practice. Good character is built through consistent, intentional habits.
How We Build It →Bringing people together across backgrounds, ages, and traditions. Unity is our greatest strength as a community.
Connect With Us →Preserving and celebrating the richness of Hindu culture — its art, language, music, festivals, and philosophy — as a living inheritance for our children.
Explore Culture →Physical, mental, and spiritual strength cultivated together. A strong swayamsevak is capable of serving others — so we invest in developing every dimension of well-being.
Join a Shakha →Unwavering commitment to our ideals, our community, and our nation. Nishtha is what separates aspiration from action — and action from transformation.
Get Involved →HSS Thailand is part of a global family of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh chapters spanning over 50 countries and five continents.
HSS was founded in the United Kingdom in 1966 by swayamsevaks of the RSS who had settled abroad. Today it is the largest Hindu organisation outside India.
From the UK and USA to Australia, Canada, Kenya, and across South-East Asia — HSS chapters nurture Hindu communities around the world with the same core values.
Hundreds of shakhas operate globally every week, each one a small but powerful hub of character-building, cultural preservation, and community service.
HSS Thailand is proud to be part of this extraordinary global movement — a family bound not by geography, but by shared values and a shared vision.
